GloRilla was charged with possession after police visited her home to investigate a burglary.

Grammy-nominated artist GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods, is facing felony drug charges following a police response to her Georgia home. Authorities were called to the Forsyth County residence on Saturday due to a report of a burglary in progress, where it was alleged that three suspects had entered the home and were stealing items when an armed occupant fired at them, according to Stacie Miller, a public information officer for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspects fled the scene, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Detectives from the Major Crimes and Crime Scene Unit arrived and detected a strong smell of illegal narcotics, prompting the involvement of the Lanier Regional Drug Task Force.

After obtaining a search warrant, agents discovered a significant amount of marijuana in plain view inside the master bedroom closet. GloRilla was not at home during the burglary, which is still under investigation.

She has been charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance. GloRilla voluntarily turned herself in to the Forsyth County Jail on Tuesday and was released the same day after posting bond.

On Thursday, GloRilla addressed the situation on social media, stating, “Crazy!! My House got Home Invaded Saturday While I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA All-Star game & instead of focusing on finding the suspects, they focus on some cannabis.” She added, “Long story short, my house gets home invaded and I’m the only one that gets arrested.”

Sheriff Ron Freeman emphasized the seriousness of the burglary, stating, “The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice. At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”

GloRilla, a rising star from Memphis, gained fame with her viral 2022 hit “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” and has collaborated with artists like Cardi B on “Tomorrow 2” and Megan Thee Stallion on “Wanna Be.”
