DeSantis has announced the establishment of a second immigration detention facility, referred to as 'Deportation Depot,' in Florida.

On Thursday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis revealed that his administration is set to open a new immigration detention center named "Deportation Depot."

This announcement regarding the new facility in northern Florida follows the state's recent opening of a detention center in the Everglades, which is known as "Alligator Alcatraz."

"We are authorizing and will soon be launching this new facility for the detention, processing, and deportation of illegal immigrants here in North Florida," DeSantis stated during a press conference.

The new immigration detention center will be situated at the Baker Correctional Institution in Sanderson, Florida. The governor noted that the facility, located near Lake City Airport, will not serve as a long-term housing solution.

"We have been actively securing the border, enforcing immigration laws, and deporting illegal aliens currently residing in our society, sending them back to their countries of origin," DeSantis remarked. "We have accomplished more in this regard than any other state by a significant margin."
