Marjorie Taylor Greene Backs Move To Create New Census That Only Counts US Citizens, Calls For 'Proof Of Citizenship' In Elections — 'Americans Don't Feel Like They're Represented'

In a recent video statement, Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene argued that House district boundaries and Electoral College votes are determined by population counts from the U.S. Census. Greene claimed that after years — particularly the last four — of what she described as an “invasion” of millions of people entering the country, many Americans now feel they are no longer properly represented in Washington.

Greene introduced a bill proposing that congressional districts and Electoral College allocations be based solely on the count of U.S. citizens, rather than total population.

She insisted that, if passed, her legislation would cause states like California, New York, and other so-called “sanctuary states” to lose both Electoral College votes and House seats, shifting political power away from these states.

This raises several serious questions:

**Is it constitutional — or even practical — to change how congressional representation and Electoral College votes are allocated based solely on citizenship instead of total population?**

**And if such a policy were enacted, how would it reshape political power and representation across the United States? Would it strengthen democracy or undermine it?**
